Now a seasoned veteran at 15, Chad Akins began his racing career at the early age of 7. Mark Martin was instrumental in getting Chad started in the Quarter Midget division at New Smyrna Speedway. He dominated this field and moved onto the Bandelero Bandit division and then onto the FASCAR Pro Truck Series by the age of 12. Chad has achieved 6 Championships in all three combined divisions of his racing career, still under the watchful eye of Mark Martin. At 14, Chad started on the pole and led all 25 laps to score his first career ASALMS win in his first ever ASALMS appearance in the GM Performance Parts Shootout.
